Exploring Borders Make a Copy
The purpose of this HyperDoc is to provide a way for 8th graders to learn about borders. Students should be able to answer the questions: How are people impacted by geographical and political borders? and Why do geographical and political borders change over time? Students should also be able to define the following vocabulary words: ethnic borders, national borders, geographical borders, political borders, sustainable resource, globalization, developing nation, industrialized nation, and culture.
This HyperDoc is a part of a "front-loading" unit for students have studied the Spanish-American War and Imperialism, as well as WWI and WWII, in previous years. The HyperDoc is to prepare students before studying post-WWII USA, the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Modern Issues.
